Procedures during Admissions

About Statuses of Residence and Visas

 Once you have acquired your status of residence, please visit your nearest immigration bureau to complete all related procedures.
 In addition, you must have your residence card on your person at all times while in Japan.

About National Health Insurance/Pension

 For the procedure for enrollment into National Health Insurance and Pension, please visit your area's city hall/town hall as soon as possible after you have arrived in Japan.

About Individual Number

 Introduced in October 2015, this system's official name is the Social Security and Tax Number System. If you have a resident card in Japan, you are eligible for this service even if you are a foreign national. No special procedure is required; a "Notification Card" with your "Individual Number" will be mailed to you, so please be careful not to lose it. In addition, please do not share your Individual Number with others carelessly. Your Individual Number is required when completing government-related procedures or to hold a part-time job. Procedure for Returning to Home Country

 When returning to your home country, please confirm and complete all procedures early enough to allow for processing. In addition, please visit the Student Support Office or The Center for International Exchange Programs and Foreign Language Education for university procedures.
